Scion of the Dark Marrow, pt.2 by ~TheSpartan:iconTheSpartan:

Unable to move, Sol realized he was quite at the mercy of the elf maiden, whom he took to be named Eleniel. He felt the arrowhead move from his skull, and his leg freed, but he knew he was not yet in the clear.
“On your feet fool, turn and face me,” he heard the elf say. He did as commanded, olive eyes displaying a rather strong hatred for being ganged up on and held at arrowpoint.
“What do you want from me? All I did was try to help you,” he said angrily.
“Ha! You nearly took off my head just now! That’s not help at all, fool,” she scoffed.
“Only because you tried to shoot me again!” he growled back.
Enough bickering! Explain our intentions Eleniel, or I will, came Ruamus’ voice. The wolf had sat itself behind Sol, and was watching them both with narrowed eyes and ears pinned back, obviously he had had enough of their foolishness. Eleniel gave him an expression that looked much like a child being reprimanded by an adult, but regained her compsure and looked back at her prisoner.
“Fine then. You are Solr’thuin of the Dark Marrow, are you not?” she asked him directly. Sol’s mouth hung open for a moment, how could she possibly know his full title…and even the name of his organization.
“I take your silence as a yes. We have been looking for you, it would seem you have unfinished business in the world.”

“Okay okay, explain this to me again…I’m descendant of who and have to do what?”
“You really are a fool aren’t you.”
Eleniel sighed with exhasperation, she had just explained the entire thing. She and Sol sat on opposite sides of the small campfire, Ruamus lying on the elf maiden’s right. They had used planks from the destroyed wagon to kindle the fire and set up camp in the shallow valley. Sitting indian style, the young man had listened to everything Eleniel and Ruamus had to tell him, most of it things he apparently did not know about himself.
“Our research is incomplete, but from what we know, you are the distant relative of Syzdothyx who was the Draconian member of the Four Founders. Because of that you inherited his sword, a claymore called Ixenvyth, commonly known as Firesteel,” she explain again, an edge in her voice.
“So what difference does that make? I have no use for a sword,” he replied dismissively.
“It makes a huge difference. Ixenvyth is one of the Blades of Power that defeated the Shadowking Jericho, have you not been educated? Even children know of the great battle between the Four Founders and the Shadowking,” she asked incredulously, how could someone be so blind to the world around him?
“I’ve probably heard it somewhere, but who cares? Jericho’s like since been dismissed to the Abyss, that’s why the four races prospered right? There’s no point in trying to find Ixenvyth if I don’t need it,” Sol replied in his defense. Eleniel snapped the stick she had been poking the fire with in frustration.
“You need to find and wield Ixenvyth because it will only respond and unlock it’s full potential for you, because you carry the blood of it’s former master! You may not have noticed, but the world is changing. Jericho is gone but not forgotten, and we fear he may not be gone for much longer,” she said angrily. Now that startled Sol, he frowned deeply, looking a bit like he didn’t want to believe it.
“There’s no way...” he said slowly.
“A staggering amount of evidence points in that direction. After Jericho’s defeat his council was hunted down, but you weren’t one of the Shadowking’s warlords for being easy to kill. As far as we know, only two of the original six on the council were killed, the remaining four went into hiding and were forgotten.  Well it’s not likely that they accepted the death of their king, so they spent the following years of peace trying to devise a way to return him to the mortal realm once more. They must have found something, because Jericho’s fortress in the Black Mountains has been rebuilt, and there are increased reports of attacks on the villages in the flatlands leading up to the mountains. Things are getting hectic, Sol. The dwarves have already started to retreat deep into their mountain halls, and a  lot of the elven courts are suggesting that we flee across the sea back to our homeland. The kingdom of men is devided, as they always are. Some of them want to start organizing a resistance, while the rest of them refuse to believe that Jericho could return and are simply ignoring it. A week ago, a council meeting was held with representatives from the four races, and we agreed that it was time to prepare. We need to find all four decendants of the original founders, uncover the Blades of Power, and pepare for battle,” she explained in grave tones.
